ENTRY LEVEL CAD TECHNICIAN

DESCRIPTION

Individual will be part of an integrated team performing CAD services for various clients across the Tri-State area. Qualified candidate will be a team member who can function independently, collaborate on a team level, complete multiple assignments, and contribute to the growth of Keystone Consultants, Inc.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient with CAD systems, MicroStation or AutoCAD, creating, modifying and releasing drawings under direct supervision of a supervisor for use by clients.
  • Must be able to work from various sources including in-house data and external sources.
  • Work closely with other departments within the company to ensure that all drawings convey the correct information.
  • Self-check own work for completeness, accuracy and standards compliance.

EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in CAD or related field preferred

SURVEY PARTY CHIEF

OFFICE MANAGER

Keystone Consultants, Inc. is seeking an experienced Office Manager with an engineering background, who will be responsible for leading the operations of the office. Duties will include oversight and guidance over various disciplines/technical areas, staffing, marketing and business development in the West Virginia area.

DESCRIPTION

This position will be responsible for increasing Keystone Consultants presence in the Fairmont, WV area by marketing company resources. The Office Manager will focus on increasing the visibility of the firm, securing work with clients and teaming partners, and ensuring quality products are delivered to our clients on time and under budget. The position will include identifying and securing new work, conducting the work as well as managing and mentoring others producing work efforts and products. The Office Manager will be responsible for marketing projects with multiple and differing disciplines. This position will concentrate on building and coordinating work efforts within the Tri-State area. The Office Manager will report to the President of Keystone Consultants, Inc.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and build a vision plan for the engineering discipline in the Fairmont, WV area, including staffing, marketing targets, and billability goals for the short term and long term, in collaboration with Keystone Consultants discipline leads, other Office Managers and company leadership.
  • Lead day-to-day business operations of the Fairmont office location.
  • Provide leadership, oversight, technical mentoring and guidance to staff within the Fairmont office.
  • Assist and coordinate with other Office Managers and corporate Discipline Leaders as needed.
  • Grow the business and add new service areas and clients.
  • Recruit multi-disciplined staff and team to meet project obligations and provide viable technical teams to market, win, and execute projects.
  • Coordinate with technical staff to ensure work is completed properly and on schedule.
  • Create and Lead the Engineering Discipline in West Virginia.
  • Lead, manage, conduct/prepare, assist and train others in all aspects of the engineering discipline, including, but not limited to: Project management, including proposals and scope of work preparation, budgeting, invoicing, scheduling, etc. Preparation and development of engineering design plans. Coordination of projects between disciplines. QA/QC review of design plans. Compliance with design standards and guidelines. Development of design and review standards for application in project process. Project and Program Management. Coordinate with clients and agencies regarding project data, needs and status, as necessary. Prepare and negotiate scopes of work and cost estimates. Prepare project schedules and budgets. Keep all projects within schedule and budget. Work closely with and assist in coordinating needs of existing staff in other offices. Utilize staff effectively and efficiently. Develop and monitor workload, staffing and budget projections. Marketing and Business Development.

SURVEY FIELD TECHNICIAN

DESCRIPTION

The essential functions of this position include the setup, maintenance, and operation of all field survey equipment, the operation of survey instruments in the field including total stations, levels, data collectors, GPS, and other standard survey equipment. They will also prepare survey sites and remove all obstacles, including debris, brush, tree limbs, etc. Essential functions include maintaining neat and accurate field records and survey notes, assisting the Crew Chief in field day to day operations, maintaining field vehicles and supplies, uploading and downloading data collection information and photographs, and all other duties as assigned.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pipeline installation /construction including preliminary staking and location , Boundary, Topographic and As-Built Surveys
  • Coordinates findings with Party Chief
  • Works under direction of Survey Party Chief running instruments
  • Job may require moderate lifting

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of surveying experience and demonstrate a working knowledge of surveying equipment
  • Knowledge of Trimble GPS and Survey Total Station equipment a plus
  • Must possess a HS Diploma or equivalent; AAS in Surveying a plus

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be detail oriented, and have ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed, and be available for frequent travel for overnight assignments
  • Must have or be able to obtain OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety Certification within a reasonable period of time
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST 1

DESCRIPTION

Keystone is searching for a self-motivated, entry-level Environmental Scientist to support a growing base of projects in our Carnegie, PA office location. This full time position is expected to support environmental investigation and permitting projects, and will be working alongside and supporting senior level engineering and environmental project managers on multiple projects. This is a full time position that will involve both field and office work.

FIELD ACTIVITIES

  • Delineation of wetland boundaries and field identification of terrestrial vegetation.
  • Identification of soil horizons and soil properties.
  • Infiltration testing.
  • Characterization of aquatic and terrestrial habitats.
  • Research potential habitat for endangered species.

OFFICE ACTIVITIES

  • Technical writing, including preparation of technical reports, permit applications, work plans and memorandum.
  • Data entry, data interpretation, and statistical evaluations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science or other related discipline.
  • Candidate should be health and safety focused, and able to work successfully in a team setting.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Familiarity with Trimble GPS Unit.
  • Demonstrated section 401/404 permitting through state and federal regulatory agencies and Endangered Species Act permitting experience required.
  • Certification by a professional society or a state regulatory board in the discipline of practice is desired. These certifications or registrations may include but are not limited to Professional Geologist, Professional Wetland Scientist, Certified Environmental. Professional, or Certified Ecologist.
  • 3-5 years’ experience.

SURVEY DEPARTMENT MANAGER

Keystone Consultants Inc. has an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional surveyor to lead our Survey practice. The candidate will lead a team of more than thirteen survey crews and four office staff in our growing survey practice.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Manage multiple survey crews and in-house survey staff (schedule, scope, budget)
  • Create/write proposals and bids
  • Responsible for safety coordination of survey department
  • Oversee ordering and maintenance of survey supplies and equipment
  • Responsible for quality control of survey deliverables
