SURVEY DEPARTMENT MANAGER

DESCRIPTION

Keystone Consultants Inc. has an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional surveyor to lead our Survey practice. The candidate will lead a team of more than thirteen survey crews and four office staff in our growing survey practice.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Manage multiple survey crews and in-house survey staff (schedule, scope, budget)
  • Create/write proposals and bids
  • Responsible for safety coordination of survey department
  • Oversee ordering and maintenance of survey supplies and equipment
  • Responsible for quality control of survey deliverables
  • Oversee and participate in training of office and field staff
  • Create and maintain relationships with the internal project managers to determine organizational capacity and resource allocation needs, ensuring responsive, cost effective and quality delivery of services and partner with them to help assist in the promotion of survey opportunities to their clients

REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional registration in PA, WV, or OH
  • Five years of management experience
  • Ten years surveying experience
  • Two year degree in either Civil Engineering or Surveying (4 year preferred)

ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST 1

DESCRIPTION

Keystone is searching for a self-motivated Environmental Scientist to support a growing base of projects in our Carnegie, PA office location. This full time position is expected to support environmental investigation and permitting projects, and will be working alongside and supporting senior level engineering and environmental project managers on multiple projects. This is a full time position that will involve both field and office work.

FIELD ACTIVITIES

  • Wetland and Water Body Delineation in PA, WV, OH and VA using USACE methods to support project planning and permitting efforts.
  • Infiltration testing, including identification of soil horizons and soil properties.
  • Characterization of aquatic and terrestrial habitats.
  • Surveys for listed rare, threatened and endangered species and their habitat.

OFFICE ACTIVITIES

  • Preparation of Wetland Delineation reports, permit applications (nationwide, general permits and joint or individual permits), rare, threatened and endangered species survey reports.
  • Data entry, data interpretation, and statistical evaluations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • USACE Wetland Delineation training.
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Biology, Botany or other related discipline.
  • Candidate should be health and safety focused, and able to work successfully in a team setting.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Familiarity with Trimble GPS Unit.
  • Demonstrated Clean Water Act sections 401/404 permitting through state and federal regulatory agencies and Endangered Species Act consultation experience required. Experience in PA and WV required. Demonstrated experience in other states is preferred.
  • Certification by a professional society or a state regulatory board in the discipline of practice is desired. These certifications or registrations may include but are not limited to: Professional Geologist, Professional Wetland Scientist, Certified Environmental. Professional, or Certified Ecologist.
  • 2-3 years' experience.
