Keystone Consultants Inc. is seeking an experienced Professional Land Surveyor in its Carnegie, Pennsylvania office. The successful candidate must have knowledge of all phases of surveying, including coordination of field crews, field operations and survey calculations.

Job Description:
The successful candidate will manage multiple survey projects, oversee and schedule multiple crews and ensure compliance with all corporate QA/QC requirements. The candidate will also compile and organize daily project field data and work closely with other divisions to ensure completion of projects in a professional and timely manner.

Keystone Consultants LLC. is seeking a Survey Party Chief who has at least 2 years’ experience leading a survey crews performing various property and land development projects.

Job Description:

Lead survey crew performing topography, construction staking, boundary surveys, and control surveys using both conventional and GPS techniques.

  • Review crew assignment with the Project Manager or Field Coordinator.
  • Explain the objective for the day’s assignment to the crew members.
  • Meet inspectors or client representative for site specific requirements.
  • Is the point of contact between the crew members and the office.
  • Leads the crew members to efficiently complete the work for the day.
  • Understands how the work of the crew is brought in to drawings.
  • Review the completed work with the Survey Technician to answer deficiencies or to understand improvements to methodologies.
  • Solve problems that may arise on the jobsite.
  • Accurately complete daily time report.
  • Set up and operate instruments and back sight with heights.
  • Set up base and rover accurately measure height and record time.
  • Draw sketches of control points.
  • Understands simple mathematics.
  • Converts units of measurement (i.e. inches to tenths of foot).
  • Draw clear sketches of survey areas.
  • Prepare clear field notes for the work.
  • Has thorough understanding of what surveying is and methods used to perform the particular types of surveys.
  • Set up a total station.
  • Teach others how to use the total station.
  • Ensure that crew members treat each other and customers/venders with respect and behavior is aligned with organizational values.
  • Complete a closed traverse.
  • Read a deed, map or plat.
  • Identify important features for topographic surveys.
  • Identify boundary corners and evidence of occupation.
  • Understand bearings and azimuths.

  • Follow scope of work as defined by contract or client approved changes.

SURVEY FIELD TECHNICIAN

DESCRIPTION
The essential functions of this position include the setup, maintenance, and operation of all field survey equipment, the operation of survey instruments in the field including total stations, levels, data collectors, GPS, and other standard survey equipment. They will also prepare survey sites and remove all obstacles, including debris, brush, tree limbs, etc. Essential functions include maintaining neat and accurate field records and survey notes, assisting the Crew Chief in field day to day operations, maintaining field vehicles and supplies, uploading and downloading data collection information and photographs, and all other duties as assigned.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Pipeline installation /construction including preliminary staking and location , Boundary, Topographic and As-Built Surveys
Coordinates findings with Party Chief
Works under direction of Survey Party Chief running instruments
Job may require moderate lifting

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of surveying experience and demonstrate a working knowledge of surveying equipment
Knowledge of Trimble GPS and Survey Total Station equipment a plus
Must possess a HS Diploma or equivalent; AAS in Surveying a plus

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be detail oriented, and have ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
Must be available to work overtime as needed, and be available for frequent travel for overnight assignments
Must have or be able to obtain OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety Certification within a reasonable period of time
Must possess a valid driver’s license

SURVEY RODMAN

Job Title: Survey Tech 1 (Survey Rodman)

Survey Tech 1 (Survey Rodman)

Keystone Consultants, LLC. is currently seeking Survey Tech 1 in Akron, OH , York, PA, and Pittsburgh, PA.

Purpose:

The Survey Tech 1 is an entry level individual and an important member of a two or three-person field crew.  Provides assistance and support to the Instrument Person and Party Chief in completing field survey work.

Function:

The Survey Tech 1 assists the other members of the crew on site.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Loads equipment and supplies into the vehicle for the work to be performed each day.
  • Unloads and places equipment in its rightful place in the basement at the end of the day.
  • Charges any equipment used during the day so it is ready for the next day.
  • Follows directions issued by the Survey Tech 3 or 4 while on the specific job site.
  • Is aware of surroundings to act in a safe manner at all times.
  • Carries equipment and supplies needed to perform the work of the day.
  • Learns from the members of the crew the tasks being performed, why they are being performed and the importance thereof.
  • Accurately completes time report.

 

Physical Demands and Work Conditions:

  • Walks over rough terrain.
  • Lifts or carries over 50 pounds.
  • Works outdoors in all types of weather and conditions.
  • Ability to carry standard survey equipment and supplies.
  • Continually required to talk or listen.

 

Qualifications:

  • No prior experience or training necessary.
  • High School diploma.
  • Ability to perform basic calculations and math functions.
